The Start of a New Adventure

In less than 72 hours, I will be in San Diego preparing to begin my summer job as a translator for Baja Missions in Ensenada, Mexico. My preparation started several years ago. I have been studying Spanish for 7 years and have wondered, many times, if I would ever get to the point where I was able to do a job like this one. I have been to Baja many times over the past 8 years and each time I go my love for this place and the people living here grows. I am beyond excited for the opportunity God has given me this summer to be a part of such a special work that has a special place in my heart.

Saying all of that, this was not an easy choice for me. I have the best family and friends on the entire planet and leaving them is a hard thing for me to do. I've gone back and forth in my head trying to figure out the best decision and ultimately decided that Baja was where God wants me to be this summer. I have a passion for the work and people that I will be with this summer and believe it is time to use this passion for the glory of God. I am blessed to have the support of my family and friends as I begin this new adventure.

I am not exactly sure how much I will be able to update this because it will depend on my schedule but it should be at least once a week. Feel free to check in as often as you like and I hope you enjoy it!
